We are often asked how organisations can buy Littlechild & Haley, and what makes our approach different from more traditional audit providers.
The short answer is that procurement is deliberately straightforward, but the experience of working with us is not standardised. We operate in complex public sector environments where assurance needs to stand up to scrutiny, support informed decision-making and reflect the realities organisations are facing, not just what a template expects to see.
This page explains who we work with, how we are appointed, and what clients can expect when they engage us for Internal Audit, IT & Cyber assurance, or programme and transformation assurance.
Internal Audit, IT & Cyber, and Programme Assurance Services
About us
Littlechild & Haley provides senior-led Internal Audit and IT & Cyber assurance services across the UK public sector. Our clients include NHS bodies, central and devolved government, local authorities, arm’s-length bodies, education, blue light organisations, housing providers, charities and regulators.
We work almost exclusively in complex, high-scrutiny environments where assurance needs to be credible, proportionate and useful to decision-makers. Many of our clients come to us after experiencing frequent team changes, over-standardised reporting, or audit work that feels disconnected from their real risks.
We are appointed to multiple UK public sector frameworks, enabling compliant, straightforward procurement without unnecessary friction.
At the heart of our work is a simple principle: internal audit should support Audit and Risk Committees with insight they can genuinely rely on, not just assurance for assurance’s sake.
Why organisations choose us
Senior-led delivery
Every engagement is planned, overseen and delivered by experienced directors. Audit and Risk Committees see continuity, judgement and accountability throughout the year, rather than junior-heavy delivery with limited context.
Framework-approved and procurement-ready
We are appointed to more than four public sector frameworks, allowing clients to use direct award or mini-competition routes with confidence that governance and compliance requirements are met.
Risk-based and proportionate assurance
Our audit plans focus on what matters most: strategic, principal and emerging risks. Reporting is clear, direct and written for committees, with practical recommendations rather than generic control language.
Continuity and reliability
Clients are assigned named audit leads, and we do not substitute teams at short notice. Over time, this builds trust, institutional knowledge and more meaningful assurance.
Added value, including ESG and climate risk
We bring insight from comparable organisations, thematic learning and sector experience. ESG and climate-related risks are integrated where relevant, and our remote-first delivery model helps reduce environmental impact without compromising engagement quality.

As one of our founders puts it:
“Buying audit should not feel like buying a commodity. What clients are really investing in is judgement, consistency and the confidence that someone senior is accountable for the work. That is what we insist on delivering, every time.”

How to buy
Organisations can appoint Littlechild & Haley through established, framework-compliant routes.
Direct award
Available on certain frameworks where permitted. This is often the quickest option, with terms already agreed and scope confirmed collaboratively.
Mini-competition
Clients issue their scope through the relevant framework portal. We respond quickly with a tailored, proportionate proposal that reflects organisational priorities and committee expectations.
Early engagement is encouraged. A short conversation ahead of procurement often helps shape a more focused audit plan and avoids unnecessary complexity later.
